  • Pack up as much extraneous “stuff” as possible. Declutter, declutter, declutter. Pack away family photos that sit on dressers, end tables, bookshelves etc. Organize closets and cupboards. Clean out the basement!
  • Spot paint both interior and exterior areas which show wear and tear.
  • Clean or replace carpets as needed. Check every morning before leaving that your home is clean, organized, presentable and ready for guests.
  • Take a critical assessment of how the exterior of your home presents itself. Trim hedges, keep the grass mowed and the porch swept.
  • Be proactive! Get a pre-listing inspection and fix or replace the problems. The first thing a buyer will do when making an offer is to insist on an inspection to ferret out issues with mechanical systems, plumbing systems and the roof.
  • Have a professional stager assess the interior “look” of your home and offer suggestions on how to have your home put its best foot forward. Act on the suggestions offered.
  • Finally, REMEMBER, that initial offers may not meet your expectations, but don’t dismiss them and don’t be insulted! I am known for my negotiating skills which work to your advantage.
